FIFA bans previous Afghan general secretary in sexual maltreatment enquiry

The previous general secretary of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has been restricted for a long time and fined after FIFA's morals council saw him as blameworthy of infringement identifying with the maltreatment of female players.

The world soccer body said in an explanation that the examination concerning Sayed Aghazada concerned grumblings held up by a few female Afghan football players against previous AFF president Keramuudin Karim.

Karim was restricted for life in June.

The female players' grumblings identified with sexual maltreatment somewhere in the range of 2013 and 2018, when Aghazada was the AFF's general secretary.

"In its choice, the adjudicatory chamber decided that Mr Aghazada knew about this maltreatment and had the obligation to report and anticipate it as indicated by the FIFA Code of Ethics," FIFA said on Friday.

"Thusly, the adjudicatory chamber found that Mr Aghazada had ruptured ... the FIFA Code of Ethics and endorsed him with a boycott ... for a long time. Furthermore, a fine in the measure of 10,000 Swiss francs ($10,000) has been forced."

Aghazada was likewise a FIFA standing panel part and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Executive Committee part.
