A goat can cost you: Coal India stops fill in as local people fight over creature passing

Challenges by local people in eastern India over a trespassing goat killed in a mishap stopped activities and cost Coal India unit Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd (MCL) 26.8 million rupees ($377,000), a representative said on Tuesday.

"It's amazing, yet obvious. A goat can likewise cost you," MCL representative Dikken Mehra's announcement read.

Coal transportation at Talcher coalfields, one of India's greatest, stopped after local people from a close by town challenged the executing of a goat in a mishap in a precluded mining zone.

Tasks were ended for three-and-a-half-hours, and continued simply after police interceded, Mehra said. Coal India has held up a grievance at the neighborhood police headquarters against the dissidents.

"Individuals from the fringe territories intentionally trespassing into the coal mineshaft and overburden zones to pick coal, kindling and even touch their domesticated animals stays a reason for concern," Mehra said.
