Dengue circumstance stable: BSMMU VC

Bangabandhu Sheik Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Kanak Kanti Barua on Tuesday said the general dengue circumstance in Bangladesh is steady.

"Some genuine dengue patients have been admitted to BSMMU yet their condition is improving. Two patients passed on of the ailment at the emergency clinic. We're attempting to give better administrations," he said in the wake of visiting Dengue Treatment Cell (DTC) opened on July 27 at the emergency clinic.

Barua said 145 dengue patients have been admitted to DTC in 24 hours until 8 am.

Awami League's focal checking cell convener Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin said the administration is attempting to avert dengue. "I visited Dhaka Medical Hospital and saw a few patients were remaining on the floor. They said they were content with the treatment," he said.

As per BSMMU Director Brig Gen Dr AK Mahbubul Hoque, 402 dengue patients were admitted to DTC until 8 am on Tuesday. In addition, 4,940 dengue patients were treated at the open air office.

In the interim, seven dengue-related passings were accounted for on Monday and Tuesday. The administration said 2,348 dengue cases were accounted for in 24 hours until Tuesday morning. Of these, 1,284 are from Dhaka.

Since the start of this current year, 29,912 individuals were hospitalized the nation over with dengue, as per government information.

In any event 7,968 patients, including kids, are presently experiencing treatment at emergency clinics while the rest were released after treatment. In Dhaka, 5,182 dengue patients are presently hospitalized.

BSMMU Deputy Nursing Superintendent Sandhyrani told media that there is no deficiency of medication. "We serve the patients warmly," she said. "There's no issue."
