Warner presents harmed net bowler with Australia WC shirt

David Warner gave net bowler Jaykishan Plaha a marked Australia World Cup shirt on Saturday, seven days subsequent to hitting the paceman in the head with a drive during a training session at the Oval.

Australia stopped their instructional meeting after the occurrence and Plaha was taken to medical clinic for checks, which demonstrated no real damage.

The left-gave batsman met Plaha in front of Australia's down against Sri Lanka at a similar scene and gave him a signed group shirt.

"A week ago, Jaykishan Plaha was hit on the head by a David Warner drive during an Australia instructional meeting," said a post on the official World Cup Twitter channel.

"Today, Warner met both Jaykishan and his mum before play, gave Jaykishan an Australia shirt and wished him a fast recuperation."

Australia skipper Aaron Finch said a week ago that Warner was "truly shaken-up" after the net bowler was felled.

"Warner gave me his match shirt from the World Cup. Truly welcome it. What happened was that I got hit on the head by David Warner on the front drive," Plaha said in a video posted on Twitter.

"Happy to remain here really. Would like to be back on the field soon. My fantasy is to be an expert cricketer also."

Warner, who has come back from a ball-altering boycott alongside partner Steve Smith, has scored 281 keeps running at the World Cup in five matches up until this point, including a century and two fifties.

Australian cricket was dove into grieving in 2014 when Test batsman Phillip Hughes kicked the bucket in the wake of being hit on the base of the skull during a residential match.

Warner was playing in that coordinate, between New South Wales and South Australia.
