Dhaka University (DU) ran out as victors of the chess title at the Inter-University Indoor Games 2019, beating Jahangirnagar University (JU) in the last round on Saturday.
The amusements, which started from 29th March, were held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). An aggregate of nine groups combat for the trophy with the diversions being played in Swiss League framework.
DU beat Rajshahi University, Khulna University, and Jagannath University in the initial three rounds, before beating JU 3-1 in the finals to complete as unbeaten heroes.
The DU chess group had completed as sprinters up and second sprinters up individually in the past two releases of the Inter-college Indoor Games.
Md. Fazley Elahi Rana and Relish Rongdi from Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Md.Barek Hossain and Shameem Sohanee from Department of English and Nahid Hasan from Department of Islamic History and Culture framed the DU winning group.
