40 DU understudies get Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship

An aggregate of 40 under-graduate understudies from various scholastic long periods of Dhaka University (DU) have been granted Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship of Japan today February 17, 2019 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the college.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman directed the capacity while Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, General Manager of the Sumitomo Corporation Mr. Ichiro Takahashi and Representative from Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh Machiko Yamamura tended to it. Counsel of the Sumitomo Corporation Mr. Khondker Ali Ershad proclaimed the names of awardees while Acting Director of Planning and Development Office of DU Mr. Jiban Kumar Mishra directed the program.

DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman praised the awardees for accepting this esteemed grant. He additionally expressed gratitude toward the Sumitomo Corporation experts for giving grant to DU praiseworthy understudies. He asked the splendid understudies to set themselves up as talented HR to make Bangladesh a prosperous nation.

Awardees of various years are: first year (Hons.)- Jannatul Ferdaus (Finance), Md. Rasel Miah (Management Information Systems), Md. Asiful Islam (Accounting and Information Systems), Sanjida Islam (Marketing), Kumari Ratna Rani (International Business), Khondkar Taki Md. Sadi (Soil, Water and Environment), Yeasif Ahmed (Disaster Science and Management), Md. Abul Kalam Azad (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Mir Mohammad Mahsin Kabir (Nuclear Engineering) and Nawara Mahmood Broti (Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering).

Second year (Hons.)- Mousumi Akter (Mathematics), Sujata Amin (Law), Suvajit Halder (Finance), Subrata Kumar Das (Marketing), Monirul Islam and Md. Ariful Islam (International Business), Ety Akter (Public Administration), Tonmoy Saha Joy (Mass Communication and Journalism), Raz Kumar Halder (Soil, Water and Environment) and Kazi Kamrun Nahar Ananya (Nuclear Engineering).

Third year (Hons.)- Md. Mohtasir Billah Siraz (Physics), Md. Emon Arefin (Banking and Insurance), Tanvir Ahmed (Management Information Systems), Kutub Uddin Khan (Economics), Farhana Feroz Meem (Soil, Water and Environment), Md.
