Priyanka Chopra is all set to tie the knot with American singer Nick Jonas in Jodhpur. That’s something almost everyone is aware of by now. What we didn’t know yet is that these two stars have lived a modern-day fairytale love story.
The Bollywood actress who claims to have followed the rule to “never publicly acknowledge a relationship,” saw her whole life coming out in the open once she got together with Jonas. Just ahead of their wedding, Nick and Priyanka bared it all about their first meeting, marriage proposal, and their relationship in an interview to The Vogue.
The Right Now singer initiated the relationship by sending a text to Chopra in September 2016, before they walked the red carpet together at MET Gala 2017. “I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet,” the text read. Priyanka took it to the next level and asked Nick to contact her on her cell phone.After the first meeting, the couple had to wait for a year until they met the next time.
Nick Jonas, who was already smitten by the Quantico star, went on one knee when they met at the Vanity Oscars party. “And I put my drink down, get on one knee—this is in front of a bunch of people—and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’” Jonas said out loud.
After their next date, Priyanka invited Nick to her apartment. “We hung out for a couple of hours. He patted my back before he left,” the actress revealed.
“There was no kiss. There was nothing,” Jonas said.
“I thought it was a respectful first night,” he added.
“It was too respectful if you ask me,” Priyanka said, who seemed to be still upset about it.Nick, who was sure about getting married to Priyanka on their third date, called his mother to give her the news. The 26-year-old singer proposed to the love of his life in Greece. Speaking of the proposal, he said, “I got down on one knee, again, and I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me? No joke—she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence.”
“I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections,” Nick said after the wait.
Talking about starting a family together, Priyanka told the magazine, “My ultimate dream is to have kids. As many as I can.”
On Thursday, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas left for Jodhpur with their families for their wedding ceremonies that have already started.The Statesman.
