Switzerland to install statue in Sridevi's honour

From Raj Kapoor's Sangam to Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Switzerland has been a favourite shooting location for Indian filmmakers and Indian tourists have been flocking to the country in thousands ever since.
In a tribute to late actor Sridevi, the Swiss tourism industry is planning to install a statue of the iconic leading lady.
She was one of the Indian actors who set a trend by being picturised in the snowy hills of Switzerland in the 80s and 90s and played a prominent role in promoting tourism in the country. A majority of the songs in late filmmaker Yash Chopra's 1989 Sridevi-starrer Chandni were filmed in Switzerland. He was made honorary Ambassador of the town of Interlaken in 2011 along with having a statue and a train named after him.
