Shimla, Apu, Poppy, Sahara enthrall audience



The National Film Award 2016 were given on July 8 at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in the city’s Sher-e-Banglanagar area where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present as the chief guest and distributed awards among the winners. 
In the cultural part of the event, film actresses Shimla, Apu Biswas, Poppy, Sahara and Toma Mirza and among the actors Amin Khan, Saimon, Zayed Khan and Emon performed. 
Poppy and Emon performed with the song Aamar mon boley tumi ashbe, Tumi Jekhane ami sekhaney and Chul dhoirona khopa khuley. Shimla and Saimon performed with Ore nil doriya and Sob sokhire par korite nebo ana ana. Zayed Khan and Sahar performed with Tumi dub diona jole konnya and Tokey bhalobashtey hobe. Emon and Toma Mirza performed with Ami ekdin tomai na dekhile and Tumi aj kotha diyechho. Ferdous and Purnima hosted the show.   
While sharing her feelings to perform in the event Poppy told this correspondent, “I am really grateful to the organizer committee of the event to give me the chance to perform in such a national event. All of us tried our level best to perform in the programme.”
After a long time break, Sahara performed on the stage. She said, “I am again going to work in big screen. I am talking with some directors in this regard now. May be good news will be announced soon. I am really happy to perform in the National Film Award giving ceremony.”
Masum Babul and Evan Shahriar Sohag were in choreography of their performances. Anupoma Mukti-Protik Hasan, Belal Khan, Konal and Rajib rendered songs on the stage. 
At the end of the event, Sadia Islam Mou and her troupe performed the song titled Tomar Jonnyo swapnopuron which was written for the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
