Dhaka Attack’, the much-anticipated first cop thriller film of the country, which was made under the direct supervision of Bangladesh Police, is going to be screened on the small screen during this upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The film will be screened on the second day of Eid at 3pm on ATN Bangla.
Directed by Dipankar Dipon, the
screenplay of the film has been penned down by Sunny Sanwar, additional
commissioner of the Counter Terrorism Unit.
The film stars Arifin Shuvo and Mahiya
Mahi in the lead roles. Besides, Syed Hasan Imam, Alamgir, Afzal
Hossain, Laila Hasan, ABM Sumon, Shatabdi Wadud and Nawshaba, among
others, have played important roles in ‘Dhaka Attack’.
In the film, Shuvo has played a
daredevil cop with the bomb disposal unit, while Mahi has enacted the
role of a journalist. Afzal Hossain, who has returned to the big screen
with the film after a long time, has played the Police Commissioner.
The story centres on the Dhaka
Metropolitan Police (DMP) Elite Forces’ fierce operation against a
terrorist organisation, the attack is part of a plot by few foreign
intelligence agencies to destabilise the country, in order to destroy
the country’s defence layers. The anonymous criminal gang plots a series
attack in Dhaka city and three young police officers work on this.
Besides, the film sheds light on the various types of thrilling
incidents take place in the professional and personal life of the
officers working in the different branches of police.
The film was released on October 20 in 2017, and received positive response from the audience.
