Siddiqur pairs up with Japanese artiste Mae

Duo’s tele-drama to be aired on Pahela Baishakh

Popular actor-director Siddiqur Rahman has made a special tele-drama titled ‘Baishakhi Mela’ with a story written by himself on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year. The surprise of the tele-drama is that an actress from Japan named Mae has starred opposite Siddiqur Rahman in the tele-drama.
DhakaLive has news that the shooting of the tele-drama was completed at a Baishakhi fair in Tongi on Saturday.
Siddiqur Rahman said about casting Japanese artiste Mae in the tele-drama, “The story of the tele-drama demanded the presence of Mae to portray the lead role. As a result, the tele-drama has been produced with her participation.”
“Even though Mae hailed from Japan, but still she speaks in Bangla fluently which I think quite surprising. She has really played her role outstandingly. As a director, I am satisfied and I hope the audience will like our performance”, he added.
Mae shared her experience, “The tele-drama revolves around my character, namely Aye. I come to visit Bangladesh from Japan and fall in love with Siddique and the culture of Bangladesh. The story moves forward from here. I really enjoyed acting in the tele-drama wearing sari.”
Actress Mae has learnt the Bangla language from the Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University.
Siddiqur’s tele-drama ‘Baishakhi Mela’ will be aired on Boishakhi TV on Pahela Baishakh.
