Comic contest on Bangabandhu held in capital

A daylong comic contest event on Bangabandhu was held at Bangabandhu Museum in the capital on Saturday, reports UNB.

Centre of Research and Information (CRI) organised the event marking the 98th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day.
A total of 30 kids from different schools of the capital took part in the comic contest held from 10am to 1pm.
Radwan Mujib Siddiq handed over crests and awards among the top six participants.
Alongside, a quiz contest on the life and work of Sheikh Mujib was also held while top three winners were also awarded with gifts.
As part of the event, a daylong screening of documentaries, showcasing the struggle of the architect of our independence were also displayed on the occasion.
To popularise Bangabandhu, an initiative has been put in place since 2014 to bring a graphic novel series based on the unfinished memoirs of Bangabandhu.
Under the supervision of CRI, the first part of the graphic novel series in Bangla was launched on the 96th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and the National Children’s Day on Mar 17, 2015. Later the 2nd, 3rd and 4th parts of the graphic novel series were also held.
The entire ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ by Bangabandhu, during his incarceration, would be presented in 12 parts of the graphic novel series.
