Three-day classical music and dance festival begins today



A three-day classical music and dance festival will begin at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segunbagicha in the capital today.  BSA is organizing the event to inspire classical artistes across the country. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the event as chief guest at 6pm on the BSA premises. Presided over by BSA Director General Liaqaut Ali Lucky the programme will be attended by the Cultural Affairs Secretary Ibrahim Hossain Khan. After the inauguration, Government Music College will present a chorus classical rendition (Kheyal), while singer Asit Ray and Soumita Bose will present Dhupod and Raag. Sharmila Bandyopadhyay and Rachel Priyanka Paris will perform group classical dance, while Rinat Fouzia and Firoz Khan will play Sitar.  
At the event, solo classical music will be rendered by Priyanka Gope, Sunny Jubaer, Dr Fakir Shahidul Islam and Saiful Islam. The inauguration event will also feature flute recitation by Mohamad Moniruzzaman and duet dance performance by Nrityanchal.
