Four noteworthy films—‘Jukti Takko Aar Gappo’, ‘Surjo Grohon’, ‘Gohin Baluchar’ and ‘Nobab’—are scheduled to be screened today at the TSC Auditorium of Dhaka University in the capital. The films are being screened in the ongoing17th edition of the ‘Amar Bhasar Chalachitra’ film festival organised by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS).
Ritwik Ghatak’s last film ‘Jukti Takko Aar Gappo’ will be screened at 10am, while Abdus Samad's much-lauded film 'Shurjo Grohon' will be screened at 12:45pm, Bodrul Anam Soud’s ‘Gohin Baluchar’ at 3:30pm and Joydip Mukherjee’ s comedy-romantic film ‘Nabab’ will be screened at 6:30pm.
DUFS has been organising the annual film festival with the slogan ‘Sustha Chalachitra, Sustha Darshak’ since its foundation in 2000 with the aim to promote Bangla films and to help change the taste of audiences and bring out more talented filmmakers.
