A month-long Folk Arts and Crafts Fair and Folk Festival-2018 begins in Sonargaon of Narayanganj on Sunday.
Bangladesh Folk Arts and Crafts Foundation will organise the fair.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave a message on the eve the festival and wished overall success of it.
She said Bangladesh Folk Arts and Crafts Foundation was established in 1975 under the patronization of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and with the sincere efforts of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin aimed at upholding the folk arts, culture and heritage of Bangladesh at international level.
The foundation has been playing an important role in research, collection, preservation, exhibition and regeneration of the country's folk arts and crafts and its heritage, she added.
The government, the premier said, has been working relentlessly towards practicing and flourishing native culture and projected it all over the world.
