To celebrate the seventh year of their establishment, Uttarayan is arranging a musical soiree titled ‘Amader Rabindranath’ today on 6:30pm at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital. Lily Islam, president of Uttarayan, will present some songs and poems of Rabindranath Tagore at the programme. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will attend the programme as the chief guest.
Co- directed by Himadri Sekhar, the programme is planned and directed by Lily Islam, while Nasirul Haque Khokon designed the set and lights. Uttarayan, which primes on Tagore, has organised many evenings of theme-based Tagore songs aiming to get in touch with Rabindra Sangeet in an aesthetic manner. Earlier, they had arranged ‘Chirokaler Rabindranath’, ‘Ebong Borsha’ (And the Monsoon), ‘Phuler Preme Rabindranath’ and ‘Celluloid-e Rabindranath’. Southeast Bank and Green Delta Life Insurance are the sponsors of the programme.
