A two-week long group painting exhibition
titled ‘Diversity of the Nature’ by the students of Painting for
Children will begin today at the Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de
Dhaka (AFD) in the capital’s Dhanmondi area. Eminent artist Samarjit Roy
Chowdhury will attend the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition as the
chief guest today at the gallery premises. The exhibition is coordinated
by Mohammad Habib Ullah.
Visual art can be regarded as one of the
ultimate reflections of the human mind. And the minds of children,
unfettered by the laws of adults, can generate amazing and open views of
the world around us. To display the beauty of the endless thoughts and
imagination of the children and to inspire them in creating more art,
Painting for Children Workshop at Alliance Française de Dhaka is going
to organise its first painting exhibition by its students.
Made by 55 little painters, who learned
their foundations of painting at the Painting for Children Workshop at
various branches of Alliance Française de Dhaka, two kinds of
artworks--paintings of nature on canvas and folk paintings on clay
‘shora’ (domed lid)--will be presented in this exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to all
until September 29 and can be visited according to the following
schedule: Monday to Thursday from 3to 9pm, Friday and Saturday (9am
to12noon and 5pm to 8pm). Closed -Sunday.
