Flood worsens in 7 upazilas of Sylhet

The flood has worsened in Sylhet, inundating several new areas such as Jokiganj Upazila. The water in the Surma River of Sunamganj is flowing 6 centimeters above the danger level.

The Water Developement Board has confirmed that the water on Kushiara River is flowing 84 centimeters over the danger level in Amolsid Point, and 74 centimeters in the Shewla Point. 
At Kanaighat, the water of Surma river is flowing 57 centimeters above the danger level. However, the Surma river in Sylhet, is flowing 12 centimeters below the danger level.  In Fenchu-ganj the river is flowing 137 centimeters over the danger level. 11 shelters have been opened for the flood affected people there. People are suffering an acute crisis of clean water in the area.
